It is not only affluent and among the safest communities in the United States, but also its pleasant climate is modulated by the nearby Pacific Ocean which contributes to the more than 300 days of sunshine enjoyed here.

Of course secluded does not mean remote, and North Ranch residents are easily able to reach work, restaurants, recreation and cultural activities by taking the Pacific Coast Highway to the south, the east/west 101 (Ventura) freeway just to the north, and the 405 (San Diego) and 5 (Golden State) freeways—which run north/south—to the east.

Recreational activities include hiking, mountain biking, and of course all of the surfing, swimming, fishing and boating activities at the ocean just a short drive away over the hill. Local points of interest include the Ronal Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in nearby Simi Valley, the Civic Arts Center in Thousand Oaks, local restaurants in Westlake Village, and of course the wealth of activities and opportunities in Los Angeles, less than an hour away.
